Many Trout Unlimited clubs offer fly tying classes for beginners just starting out. Years ago I took those classes and besides learning a lot, had a great time. Back then a size 12 seem tiny, and finding good hackle at an affordable price was impossible. I couldn't afford a $60 neck. I'm offering these 1/2 capes at an affordable price so that beginers have a chance to learn with the best dry fly hackle on the market. Grizzly and brown are the colors most called for in dry fly patterns, followed by dun, then black, and cream. And if you're just getting started, start with capes. They have hook sizes ranging from 10's to 20's and tailing fibers on the outer edge.
