Satyr Tragopan

Just before daylight, amid the narrow gorges covered with overarching tangles of bamboo, outjutting boulders, and forests of rhododendron and magnolias, the heartrendering wail of a male satyr wah! waah! oo-ah!oo-aaaaah! lets you know it's breeding season. Seeing him is almost impossible, still perched high in the branches, he blends in perfectly with the scarlet petals of rhododendron blossoms that fill the hills of his Himalayas mountain paradise.

Cross Breeds


Satyr / Temmink's Cross - Full Skin	$525.00
Full Skin On first inspection, you might think this is a Satyr. However, one look at the back and you'll see the red coming through. Only a Temmink's has a red back, a Satyr is olive. Many breeders can't tell the hens apart, so each year I come across a few crosses. The colors are brilliant and this is certainly a perfect specimen. ***Only Available to US customers!
